Okay so I haven't done the best job keeping our blog up to date but it's my New Years resolution to work on this.
Today, my loving husband turns 30 ! We celebrated in Stoughton last weekend with a party at his mom's house and a "surprise" party at Pack R Place. He tells me that he figured it out before we got there. Oh well.
Tonight, we party with good friends at Old Chicago while our child is watched by a babysitter. It should be fun.
Below is the video I made of pictures from his life so far which we watched at both parties this weekend. It was fun. Enjoy!

No Summer School!
I found out last week that the summer school I've taught for the last four years has been cancelled for this year because we didn't have enough kids sign up (gotta love budget cuts). While I'm sad not to have the chance to work with students over summer break, I am excited to spend the summer with Paige doing all sorts of fun things. Our neighbor girl has also promised to hang out with us sometimes so that will be fun.
We've decided to hold a garage sale sometime this summer so that will be another adventure. The calendar sure is filling up quickly for June, July and August already as far as weekends so even though I'll be off of work, we'll be plenty occupied.
Paige is growing quickly and running all over the place. Hopefully this week we'll get an outdoor playset so she can enjoy our big backyard. The end of the school year is a busy time for me as we tie up the loose ends and say good luck to seniors. Brian is busy doing high school tournament stories and gearing up for his summer schedule of covering golf events in the Twin Cities.

Apology & Update
I am sorry for the woeful neglect of this blog. It has been a very eventful month for our family.
Brian and I took the leap and left Paige at home with Grandma and Greatgrandma to visit San Diego. The first two days were great. Then Brian started feeling really sick. After calling the nurse line and being assured that he probably had a kidney stone, we held out until our regularly scheduled flight home. As soon as the plane landed in Minnesota, we went to the emergency room because by then he was having difficulty breathing and was very weak. Come to find out...
Brian is a Type 1 diabetic. He was hospitalized for ketoacidosis for four days. Big life change with the diabetes but he's getting it under control. Now that we're all over ::knock on wood:: the couple bouts of flu we've had in the last three weeks, normalcy should be a little easier.
Paige is getting big and is a complete toddler now. When she may have wanted to cuddle just a month ago, now she wants down and to be playing on her own. It's amazing how fast she changes.
The most expensive thing we've done in the last three weeks is buy a new roof and gutters. They're not on yet but Brian and I are really excited for the change. We'll post before and after pics when the work is done.
Here's a picture of Paige sent to us from her awesome daycare provider, Michele.

Paige's 1st Birthday Party
This week has been a big one for the Stensaas family. Paige got her first haircut at Kids Hair. We went in just for just a "clean up" cut and I can't believe how much hair she ended up getting cut off!
Several grandparents and her Uncle Matt came up to celebrate her first birthday party on Saturday. It was a great time and thanks to all who were able to come. The photos are posted below.
Now that Paige is getting really quick and trying to walk/crawl everywhere, Grandpa put her gate up to keep her from the stairs. The cats are confused but Paige just thinks it a new thing to play with. :)
Grandma Margit and Greatgrandma Audrey are up here to take care of Paige while Brian and I take a vacation to San Diego for the week. I still have a lot to do before we leave this afternoon so I'll update again when we return!
