Brian and I took the leap and left Paige at home with Grandma and Greatgrandma to visit San Diego. The first two days were great. Then Brian started feeling really sick. After calling the nurse line and being assured that he probably had a kidney stone, we held out until our regularly scheduled flight home. As soon as the plane landed in Minnesota, we went to the emergency room because by then he was having difficulty breathing and was very weak. Come to find out...
Brian is a Type 1 diabetic. He was hospitalized for ketoacidosis for four days. Big life change with the diabetes but he's getting it under control. Now that we're all over ::knock on wood:: the couple bouts of flu we've had in the last three weeks, normalcy should be a little easier.
Paige is getting big and is a complete toddler now. When she may have wanted to cuddle just a month ago, now she wants down and to be playing on her own. It's amazing how fast she changes.
The most expensive thing we've done in the last three weeks is buy a new roof and gutters. They're not on yet but Brian and I are really excited for the change. We'll post before and after pics when the work is done.
Here's a picture of Paige sent to us from her awesome daycare provider, Michele.
